In a time where pinching pennies are just as trendy as the latest clutch handbag, finding clothes that are both affordable and chic are extremely important for our wallets and our closet. Luckily, there are many maxi dresses out there that are very affordable. Since maxi dresses have been here since seasons back, there are a lot of maxi dresses now that you can find on sale or even on clearance. The same dress you see in the front window of your favorite department store you can find a very similar style by the same maker at a discount store for over half the price! Here are some of my favorite deals for maxi dresses for this season that are affordable enough that you can buy one in every style, or at least buy some brand new shoes to match.
Now, probably the Mecca of trendy low-priced stores is Forever21. If you are looking for any clothes in any style, in any color and for a low price this is definitely the place to go. There are, of course, plenty of wonderful maxi dresses on the site but here some of my favorites. This Tribal Print Dress for $24.80 is fresh and playful. The rich teal color and black print make this dress really stand out. You can add some really great jewelry—either a pretty gold necklace and bangles or chunky orange bracelets—and you will really be the star of any function you attend. Another whimsical and pretty choice from Forever21 is this Daydream Floral Maxi dress for $29.40. It’s appropriate to wear to a semi-formal function with classic pearls and a large cocktail ring.

It’s clear that maxi dresses are comfortable and stylish, but can you pull of these flirty pieces everywhere? The answer is yes! There’s a maxi dress for every occasion and ways to dress your maxi dress to transform it from day to night. Depending on the style, color, and complimentary pieces your comfy dress can become a sundress at the beach or a gown for special dinner with friends. Check out these cute styles and accessories for any possible circumstance.
Alright, so you know the girls who when they find that one shirt, pant, or dress they like they buy one in every color? Well, I must say I have a similar habit. I like to buy a maxi dress in every style they have. I don’t have this problem with tops or bottoms—I actually find variety refreshing. But when it comes to maxi dresses my eye gravitates to every one I see in the stores. I just have to have them all, one for having lunch with my girlfriends, one for having lunch with my parents, one for going to the supermarket, one for a night out dancing, and the list goes on and on. So, it seems fitting that I show you the every style of maxi dresses!

Sort of tired of last year’s maxi dress and want a new way to wear these trendy pieces? There are all sorts of new ways to wear take the maxi dress into this season to make the trend seem fresh. You can even take the dusty maxi dress hanging in your closet and revamp your maxi dress. This maxi dress style is convenient for any budget constrained fashionistas who are looking to stretch their buck. Try looking in sale or clearance racks for older season’s maxi dresses and purchase this season’s accessories to totally change the look of your outfit!
If you’re looking to purchase a new maxi dress try going for bold and bright patterns as opposed to the solids or colorblocked versions last year. A great new print would be a tie-dye style dress. The C&C California Tie Dye Maxi dress in blue is casual and fun and will definitely make you look on point with this season’s trends without making you look like you recycled your dress from last year. Heck, I would even take my old solid colored maxi dress and tie-dye it myself! Talk about revamping an old favorite, no? The flower prints are always a girly and fun trend and this season is filled with big flower prints. A great maxi dress option is the maxi halter dress from www.express.com which is $88 and comes in three color prints: black, hot stuff, and pitch black. A really pretty maxi dress if you don’t like print from head-to-toe is the Appliqué Maxi Dress from www.victoriassecret.com . This dress comes in whisper violet which is the softest lavender wash with a beautiful white flower print. This is a great way to wear the flower trend without attracting a swarm of bees. Another style I would stay away from is the “silk scarf” style of maxi dresses. I believe that trend has definitely met its expiration date. If you’re looking for a formal approach to maxi dresses other than those silk scarf styles try this beautiful Waterfall Maxi Dress from www.figleaves.com which sells for $105. The fabric is still silk, but the style is a different and elegant.

Even after all these seasons the maxi dress is living strong with women of all shapes and sizes. Springtime is when we ladies are eager to shed our heavyweight parkas, peel off our thick cotton socks, and just slip on something light, breezy and girly. And even today, maxi dresses still come in as many prints, colors and styles as it did before which is great for keeping every body type happy and flattered. To prevent the maxi dress style from looking old and tired try out some newer maxi dresses that are on the market this season to spice up the beloved trend. Anything from a different print, cut, or silhouette can completely change the maxi dress style you wore last season and make you look trendy and stylish.

The Maxi Dress: It’s Back!
If the maxi dress had to be put into three words I would choose these three “f’s”: flirty, flowing and floor length! Celebrities from Jessica Alba to Miley Cyrus are sporting summer’s most fashionable trend. Everyone thought the maxi dress would die along the boho style of Mary-Kate and Ashley. But the maxi dress has proved its greatness when it came back into fashion for 2008 because of its fashionable casualness and easiness to wear.
“Maxi” must be an abbreviation for “maximum” since this dress offers maximum comfort and maximum comfort which is what we love about this season’s trend. The “maxi” is the perfect piece to take from day to night because of the casual fabrics the dress comes in, and the long length and pretty patterns makes it glam enough for the night. We live in our maxi dresses and believe it has become the new velour jumpsuit! Throw it on when you’re walking the dog, shopping for groceries, or for your coffee runs, its comfortable and more glamorous than any tracksuit.
